Banyan Tree Initiatives aims to provide hands-on education about sustainable living for diverse youth.

Banyan Tree Initiatives is committed to promoting and building sustainable housing for vulnerable urban and rural populations. LIFT has agreed to sponsor and assist Banyan Tree in their efforts to teach at-risk and homeless youth to build environmentally and economically sensible communities at a low cost, as an alternative form of social housing.

The Banyan Tree is an ancient tree that grows all over the world in places like India, Africa, South America. The roots grow aerially creating sacred shelter spaces. Banyan Tree Initiatives aims to mimic this amazing tree by developing community roots and providing valuable education concering affordable housing and sustainable building methods.

We commit to offering sustainable solutions for youth, by youth, in creating opportunities away from the unending world of poverty and crime. Banyan Tree Initiatives has brought together organized and qualified community advocates who are dedicated to creating projects with a social, environmental and economic mandate.

We work with motivated youth!

Our priority is to work with youth who, due to moderate to extreme poverty, would normally never have access to the skills we aim to provide .

For example, youth who feel they are running out of options, that crime is the only way to survive, who feel excluded from learning institutions, who have not had access to opportunity because of motherhood, not having a family support system... there are countless reasons why youth are excluded in our system. It’s our goal to open the door of opportunity.
